David's Quarters Bible Study

God's Word says, “Where there is no vision, the people perish: …” (Proverbs 29:18).

Worst yet is a man who has a vision, but is blurred by distractions in his life. As a man, the question should be: Is my vision blurred or am I out of focus? If the answer is yes, how can I become focused again? Man has allowed his focus to become blurred over the years because he has depended upon man more than God.

Man has grown accustomed or comfortable with showing up to church on Sunday mornings, sitting through a Sunday service, getting an emotional high, going home and dying again. That's correct, dying again. When will man learn to focus on God and not on another man? How long will it take for him to capture that an intimate relationship with God requires more than a Sunday morning service? God is requiring that man serve Him continually, which means every minute of the day.

To some, this task might seem impossible, but beware that with God, nothing is impossible. You need God to help you serve Him. Isn't that funny? It is more than Sunday morning that is required of man.

For God, it is a full time task just to ensure that man is in the right place to be used by Him.

In 2 Timothy 2:15-16, God words speaks to us again:

“Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.”

What does God require of man, but to walk uprightly and do justly in His sight? God created us with a purpose in mind. If man does not know his purpose, he can ask God. God is more than willing to help us identify our purpose.

In James 1:5, it is important to note that, “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all man liberally, and upbraideth not: and it shall be given him.”

So you see, God really wants to give to man, His best, but he must be in the right place to receive the best that God has to offer. Know that this place is more than just a Sunday morning service. It is important that man get into God's Word and become intimate as to what His word is saying to him. Just as man has a purpose, he has a mission to be implemented with that purpose. No longer can man be just a Sunday morning servant.

Finally something to ponder on:

why is it that man can study tons of books to become a variety of professionals (doctors, lawyers, scientists, teachers, etc…), yet is reluctant to study one book,

the Bible, to become spiritual? Bible
